Why Us?

Our Nurse Practitioners only perform injectable procedures, primarily focusing on fillers and neurotoxins (Botox). Our team injects every day unlike some locations that have providers performing these procedures on the side.

Juvederm® is a smooth gel that can fill deep wrinkles, smooth out skin, and add volume and contour to facial features such as the lips and smile lines. Results can look very natural and last up to six months or even longer.

The main ingredient in Juvederm is hyaluronic acid – a naturally-occurring substance found in skin and joints. Hyaluronic acid is extremely hydrophilic and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water.

Accordingly, when Juvederm’s hyaluronic acid gel is injected under the skin, it instantly attracts water and produces volumizing and hydrating effects. These benefits not only plump tissue, they can also lift skin and restore natural contours.

Juvederm is an FDA-approved dermal filler designed to restore volume, correct wrinkles and lines, and counteract signs of aging. It is manufactured by Allergan, the same company that’s responsible for Botox, and includes a range of injectable products.

Each Juvederm filler is created to target and address specific cosmetic concerns and areas of the face.

Juvederm XC and Juvederm Vollure are excellent options for smoothing wrinkles and lines around the nose and mouth.

Juvederm Voluma XC is recommended for cheek augmentation and improved facial contours.

Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Volbella are indicated for lip enhancement. While Ultra XC is usually ideal for added fullness and definition, Volbella XC provides subtle augmentation and smooths perioral lines.

Juvederm Ultra Plus - Filler with indications perfect for lips and semi deep lines and wrinkles.

Juvederm Voluma - Filler that contains the thickest and strongest gel. Lift contoured cheeks.

Radiesse® (+) is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction and continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen for a long-lasting effect. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres, leaving behind only your own natural collagen. Collagen is the main structural protein in our skin–it’s what helps it feel and look tight, taught, and youthful. As we age, the production of collagen slows down, causing skin to sag.

What Can Patients Expect During Treatment?

Depending on the individual and number of treatment areas, a Juvederm treatment typically takes 15-60 minutes. It is conducted in an office setting and avoids incisions, cutting, anesthesia, scarring, or downtime. For these reasons, Juvederm filler is an ideal option for women and men who want to rejuvenate their faces, but wish to avoid surgery and a lengthy recovery.

During the procedure, the marked areas are skillfully injected with a very fine needle. The injector will carefully assess product placement throughout the treatment and massage the area to limit swelling and ensure optimal outcomes.

Following Juvederm injections, patients are free to return to work and resume all normal activities right away.

How Quickly Does Juvederm Work?

One of the key benefits of Juvederm is that it produces instant results. Patients will be pleased to note that the treated area immediately appears fuller, with improved contours and shape. Lines will also look softer for more refreshed and youthful skin.

How Long Do Juvederm Results Last?

Juvederm offers temporary volume restoration, as the hyaluronic acid gel is gradually broken down by the body. With that being said, results can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Longevity depends on the patient’s metabolic rate, product used, treatment area, and injector skill and technique.

What Are Juvederm Risks and Side Effects?

Juvederm first received FDA-approval in 2006 and has an excellent safety profile. Results can even be partially or fully reversed using an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

However, there are some possible side effects and risks that patients should be informed of prior to treatment.

These may include:

  • Swelling

  • Bruising

  • Tenderness

  • Redness

  • Surface irregularities

  • Minor pain

  • Itching

These effects are usually mild and temporary and resolve on their own in two-to-four weeks.

But in the hands of an unqualified or inexperienced injector, Juvederm can have some serious complications. This is especially true if the product is injected into an artery, which can result in vascular compromise and tissue necrosis.

For these reasons, you should always seek a certified injector who practices in a medical setting or aesthetic center.
